Someone tell me I’m not the only one who took entirely too long getting holiday decorations out…! We celebrate the first night of Hanukkah at sundown, and Christmas will be here before you know it. December has flown by!
Earlier this month my mom and I took my nine-year-old, Kenneth, to opening night of The Nutcracker. I wasn’t fully prepared for how magical it would be to see such a classic come to life before his eyes. He whispered excitedly to me when Clara began to “shrink” in size, and his face lit up when the nutcracker and the mouse king began to sword fight.
It was a real, live miracle.
This weekend, as the Jewish celebration of love, light, and miracles approaches - I wonder what small miracles surround us every day, if we take the time to look for them. Fleeting moments of love and joy come to mind first.
My four-year-old leaning over his younger brother, whispering, “Mommy, he’s so cute…!” while he sleeps.
My youngest reaching up for a smooch, seemingly out of nowhere.
Or Kenneth sharing something new he learned with us, thoughts spilling out excitedly.
When we think of a miracle, we think of something incredible - something beyond belief. But maybe - just maybe - to love and be loved, day in and day out, is the greatest miracle of all.
As 2022 comes to a close, it’s hard to ignore all there is to be grateful for. I feel compelled to share my gratitude for you, as well. If you’re reading this - thank you.
Thank you for supporting my dreams as a business owner. Thank you for letting me celebrate the love and light that is your family. I can’t wait to continue to tell stories of small (but incredible…!) miracles, for many years to come.
From my family to yours -
Happy Hanukkah
